The City of Niagara Falls will be replacing the existing playground and sand surfacing at Solar Park with new accessible play equipment and a woodchip playsurface.
This City improvement project is part of an ongoing Playspace Improvement Program which identifies City playgrounds that(either); have surpassed their service life; may potentially pose safety or risk issues due to age of equipment; may be part of an overall park upgrade project; do not currently meet accessibility standards.
The new playground equipment will be installed in early Spring 2017 and will include a variety of new climbers, slides, swings, a rock climbing wall, and be accessible. The existing playground equipment will be removed in late 2016 and the site area graded / with drainage system.

The City of Niagara Falls is pleased to advise about the start of work to the Solar Park Playspace Improvement Project. Commencing the week of December 13th, the initial work involves removal of the existing playground equipment; sand; and excavation for the new playspace area. The project work area will be fenced off for public safety. The new playspace equipment will be installed in early spring 2017 and completion is expected by May 24th 2017. The new playspace will be accessible, has a variety of new climbers; slides; play panels; rock climber; new swings; and a woodchip playsurface.
